Swim School

From infants becoming water-safe, to children and teens getting ready to join a swim team, we offer private lessons and swim classes for all ages and skill levels.

While emphasizing water safety, we build confidence through small group instruction in a fun and supportive environment. 

Summer Class Sesions:

June 9 - June 19
June 23 - July 3
July 7 - July 17
July 21 - July 31
August 4 - August 14

Each session includes eight 25-minute classes: $160/members*, $200/non-members & Heartland**

Pre-registration is required. Space is limited to ensure a favorable student/instructor ratio.

SMall Group SWIM Classes

Baby & Me - Ages 6mo to 3 years

Monday thru Thursday @ 4pm

This playful class introduces young swimmers to water safety in a fun and engaging way. A parent or adult guardian joins the child in the water, while a skilled instructor leads the activities.  

Bobbers - Ages 3 to 5

Monday thru Thursday @ 4pm, 4:30pm or 5pm

Bobbers Plus - Ages 5+

Monday thru Thursday @ 4pm, 4:30pm or 5:30pm

Bobbers/Bobbers Plus Goals:

• • Getting comfortable in the water.
  • Bobs (blowing bubbles, going under water and coming back up).
  • Floating on front and back.
  • Water safety instruction.
  • Flutter kicking.

Skills Required to Move to the Next Level:

• • Complete 10 relaxed bobs.
  • Float on front and back unassisted for 3 to 5 seconds.
  • Exit the pool unassisted.
    
    

Gliders 

Monday thru Thursday @ 4pm, 4:30pm, 5pm or 5:30pm

Skills

• • Builds on all of the skills from Bobbers, above.
  • Back and front glides, then recovery.
  • Rollover front-to-back and back-to-front.
  • Kicking on front and back unassisted.
  • Jumping in, rolling to back and calling for help.
  • Treading water.
  • Using arms to propel forward and introducing side breathing.

Skills Required to Move to the Next Level:

• • Jump into the water, surface, roll onto back and call for help.
  • Kick unassisted on front and back for 15 feet.
    
    

Zoomers

Monday thru Thursday @ 4:30pm, 5pm or 5:30pm

Skills

• Builds on all of the skills from Gliders, above.
• Side glide kick.
• Freestyle and backstroke with correct breathing.
• Introduction to the breaststroke.
• Sculling.
• Diving.
• Treading.  

Skills Required to Move to the Next Level:

• Perform side glide kick for 15 feet unassisted.
• Swim freestyle arms 15 feet unassisted, including bilateral breathing.
  
  

Swimmers

Monday thru Thursday @ 5pm or 5:30pm

Skills

• Builds on all of the skills from Zoomers, above.
• Swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke.
• Front and back flip turns.
• Open turns.
• Breaststroke.
• Butterfly.

Goals

• Swim freestyle and backstroke for longer distances (50 yards+).
• Swim 25 yards of breaststroke.
• Flip turns and open turns.
• Complete a 100 IM (Individual Medley: 25 yards of each stroke).
